Have you seen or used Boost Mobile?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boost Mobile. All opinions are 100% mine.

My contract recently finished with one of the major cell phone providers.  I haven’t decided what to do yet…at the moment I am just continuing my service.  Before I sign a contract I wanted to check out other options…one being Boost Mobile.
Boost Mobile offers a great unlimited plan for a reasonable price and they make it very easy to pay.  You can use your debit or credit card to make a payment or sign-up for worry-free automatic payments.  And they offer three ways to Re-Boost by adding money to your account…on-line, in-person, or pay by phone…which will have you re-boosted in no time.  Anything that makes life easier sounds good to me.
Currently I am not using my cell phone to post updates to any social networks but Boost Mobile makes updating Facebook or Twitter a breeze.   I might need to make the jump and start using my cell to stay in touch with others.  You can have unlimited connectivity to Facebook for one price per month…that would make it easier to stay connected with my friends a family while I am on the go.   Often times I am out for the day or gone for a weekend and this would make it easy to know what’s happening with friends and family because of the live updates.
You might think that they wouldn’t have any good phones to choose from but Boost Mobile also offers Blackberry Monthly Unlimited …which includes unlimited nationwide talk, text, web, and e-mail. You might think that they wouldn’t have any good phones to chose from but they offer some pretty cool phones. I checked out the Blackberry Curve and the Motorola i1. I liked the touch screen feature of the Motorola i1 and you could add the walkie-talkie feature if you needed to…not something that I would use but it is available.  The monthly unlimited plan for just $50 a month looks pretty appealing right now and I could get the cool Motorola i1 phone.
My biggest concern with a pay-as-you-go service or something similar is that I would forget to pay and my service would stop but Boost has taken care of that because they will send you a text message when your monthly payment is due that way I would always remember to Reboost.  This is a strong contender for my next cell phone service.

How do they know?

Does my baby have a sixth sense?
She can be sound asleep and as soon as I sit down to eat....sure enough she starts to cry.  It should be an instant diet right...well not exactly I find plenty of time to munch while I am holding her or someone else is playing with her but that's another story for another time.
I just don't know how she does it...it is always perfect timing.  I can be in the kitchen getting something together to eat and she is happy as a lark then as soon as I am done and I am ready to sit down and enjoy the glorious food I have prepared..BAM!..she starts fussing and...nooooo the pacifier won't satisfy...she needs me to pick her up and abandon my meal completely.  There are even times when only mommy will do....daddy will try to console her or get her to stop and she just keeps fussing but as soon as mommy has her she stops...kinda like magic.
And don't get me started on needing to use the restroom....
But who can resist that sweet little face?  What does mom need to have a peaceful meal for anyways...she can have plenty when the kids are grown and out of the house.  People just keep telling me....treasure the moments while they are young because they go by so fast.  I am trying...I am just grumpier when I don't get to eat.

Double Sided Baby Doll Sling

"Can I put my baby in a sling?"
-Zoie, 2 years old

I often times will put my baby in a sling or infant carrier to go on walks.  As my daughter plays she often wants to be like mom and carry her baby around with her and she looks for a make shift sling.  I decided it was time to make one just for her.
The easy way out would be to just make her a simple sling with one fabric but I wanted to give her more options in case she got bored as you probably know that a 2 year old would, could and does do fairly quickly.  Therefore...I made a double sided baby doll sling.

I headed over to Koala Brains and got an idea on how to start.

I measured my little one and I made a make shift sling with a sash to get a good idea for how big I needed to make it.  Zoie is almost 37 inches tall so you may need to adjust the measurements according to your child.

First...I always pre-wash my fabric.
1.  I measured and cut two different pieces of fabric to 13 inches by 36 inches.
2.  I pinned the two pieces with right sides together.
3.  Sew down both of the long sides with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
4.  Measure and fold down 1/2 inch on each of the short ends and press.
 5.  Turn the entire thing right side out and press.
6.  Baste the ends where you folded it down 1/2 inch because this will help to prevent any shifting when you sew it together.
7.  Overlap the basted ends 1/2 inch and pin.
8.  On one side sew as close to the edge as possible then flip it over and do the same on that side.
You should end up with 2 parallel lines that hold it together.
(My lines are by no means perfect but in the end it is for a toddler and I don't think she will care if my sewing is perfect.)
Then you can fold it in half...put it over your little one's shoulder and tuck the baby in the pocket.
And because it is reversible you can turn it so the other side shows.
Now she wants to carry her baby everywhere because the sling makes it so easy!

Summer almost gone?

Wow!  Where does the time go.  I can’t believe that it has been over a month since I posted.  We have had one of the busiest summers ever.  It has been one thing after another…baby being born,  dragon boat races, planning and having a baby shower for my bestie, family coming and a huge 4th of July party, my best friend having her sweet little bundle of joy, dragon boat races again and more family visiting, church softball, and so much more.  We have been almost non-stop since April.  We have more coming too.
It makes me wonder how my mom ever did it working full time.  One summer we went camping every weekend.  It was a blast but I can’t imagine how much work went into it from my mom.  I have some of the best memories from the camping that we did with all of our family and friends.
What have you been busy doing this summer?  Or has it just been relaxing for you?
I have many ideas for more posts including a Baby Shower Week where each day is a new tutorial or review of a baby product.  I just need to take some time to sit on the computer and get the posts written.  Hopefully soon I will be posting like a crazy woman.  Be sure to stop back by.
